What we store

Foodoku has no accounts. The first time you play, your browser creates a random player ID and secret code, saved in your browser's local storage. We store that ID (and a scrambled version of the secret) along with your guesses, answers, scores and, if you choose one, your nickname. We use this to keep your progress, compute everyone's rarity scores and show leaderboards.

If you send feedback, we store what you write. Please don't include personal information.

What we don't do

We don't ask for your name, email or location, and we don't sell your data. Your nickname is shown publicly on leaderboards; your player ID is not.

Hosting and analytics

Foodoku runs on Cloudflare, which processes basic request information (such as IP address) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.

Advertising

Foodoku may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ad Settings, or learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Deleting your data

Clearing your browser's site data removes your player ID from your device. To have your game history removed from our servers, use the "Suggest a dish" form on the home page and include your player code (from the Stats screen).
